What an interesting topic that I haven’t seen anyone else cover! I can’t remember who said it, but I agree that there isn’t enough discussion in the FI community regarding reaching FI to have the financial means to help others. Instead, there is a focus on leaving work and traveling. Giving fits into this FI concept, and it’s a topic I’ve written about. In an era when more and more people shun religion, this was a great way to illustrate that not every religious person is brainwashed or not very bright (those are some of the stereotypes surrounding religion that I continue to hear). Great discussion with smart, articulate guests!
