Gratitude Wednesday

Gratitude Wednesday

There is only one downside to this great financial independence community.  Everyone is just too damn accomplished! While safely setting aside my own insane jealousy, it’s impossible not to be awe-inspired by the creativity and talent of this great group of people.  This series of posts is called gratitude Wednesday posts.  This gives me a chance to recognize/promote individuals who have knocked me off my feet by engaging, writing grade A material, or being extremely social media savvy.  I would die for the skills, intelligence, and downright friendliness of the writers highlighted today.  I will purposefully focus on what I think of as emerging blogs.  Everybody already knows about the websites that garner millions of page views a year.  I will focus on the future movers and shakers.

Ms Ziyou

In Her Own Words:

Hi everyone, I’m Ms ZiYou, and here is my UK personal finance blog. I share my thoughts and personal development as I work towards financial independence, and early retirement at the age of 40. I’m sure you can agree there are loads of cool male married FIRE bloggers in the cult. But to make the movement representative, I feel we need more women and single people out there making some noise. I want to raise the visibility of diverse bloggers and together challenge the male engineer stereotype (although I do program, if that can be forgiven).

Bottom Line:Feminist Fire Blogger

Why I Included Her In This Gratitude Wednesday: Feminist view point, Articulate, Culture.

Money Scrap

Have You Read Her Latest Post:When Life Gets In The Way Of Blogging!

In Her Own Words:

This blog is about my personal journey to happiness (more of it) and Financial Freedom. My life is pretty good right now but I am still working full-time and it is preventing me from doing many of the things I would love to do. I would like to volunteer, take classes, start my own business, cook or take extended trips. Yes you can squeeze in some of those activities while working full-time but it can become overwhelming pretty quickly.

Financial Freedom to me is about having enough money to live happy, comfortably and being free to only do what I want to do. I don’t plan to wait until financial freedom to start working on a better and happier balanced life but it will be easier once I get there.

Bottom Line:Earn, Save, Spend, and Enjoy

Why I Included Her In This Gratitude Wednesday: Real estate entrepreneur, Parent, Lots of commentary on blogging.

Be The Boss

Physician Philosopher

Have You Read His Latest Post:Physician, Know Thyself: A Self-Identity Crisis

In His Own Words:

The purpose of this website is to help medical professionals achieve wealth without forgetting the purpose, obtaining wellness.

Post Schedule
On Mondays and Fridays of each week, items related to wealth will be posted.  Wednesdays will be “Wellness Wednesdays” where we will discuss the other tough topics related to working in healthcare (balancing life, ethics, and advice for those currently on the ROAD to practicing medicine).

The four main topics to be discussed on this blog, include:

  1. Building Wealth:  This section involves common financial pitfalls, paths to success, and recommendations that I would have made to my prior self if a time-machine existed.
  2. Ethos and Passion:  A portion of the blog on wellness and how this can be accomplished, maintained, and cultivated.
  3. Life:  While our job is to help save lives, physicians have lives outside of medicine, too!  This is the place to find advice on things outside the workplace (marriage, kids, life).
  4. The ROAD:  Humorously named “The ROAD” based on the joke in medicine that Radiology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology, and Dermatology are the “ROAD” to happiness.  Jokes aside, this is the place to find posts about the road to becoming a physician.

Bottom Line:Wealth and Wellness

Why I Included Him In This Gratitude Wednesday: His blog is a blend of building wealth and wellness.  He’s a Doc like me!

In Summary

I have a lot to be grateful for in these last few months of blogging.  The highlighted bloggers are some of my inspiration to keep writing.  There are many, many more out there who deserve a shout out.  I will try to get to each and every one of them in future Gratitude Wednesday Posts.

  1. Thanks for the shout out, DocG!

I am really proud of that post and, unfortunately, it’s story is something I really went through with a friend.

We can’t forget the “why” while we accomplish our financial goals.

Wow, thanks for the shout out DocG!
I will assume I am the friendly one:) Not sure about the skills and intelligence!
Thanks again, I really needed it this week.

  3. Ms ZiYou says:

Thanks DocG, I love the fact you find me articulate! And yes, culture is a big part of my life, it’s so important and fun to understand the world and those around us. Wait till you see the feminist manifesto for Women’s Day Next Week…

And I have to say, you yourself are the most prolific high quality blogger, DocG.
