Going Live
Going Live
I have been writing on the internet since 2004. My first blog post was about art work. My first long standing blog, which still stands today, is about medicine. I have written over a thousand blog posts over the years. The creation of The What’s Up Next Podcast thrust me into the audio realm. A different skill set, for sure, I am enjoying the new medium. While blog posts are static and thought out, podcasting always has an element of flying by the seat of one’s pants. Scary as that feels, today I will take it even a step further. Paul and I are going live.
Facebook Live
Today at 12:00pm CST The What’s Up Next Podcast (Paul and I) will be going live to discuss episode 26. What is the connection between social mission and financial independence? Even though we normally end each episode with a short discussion about the recording, we thought it would be fun to host one of these conversations in real time.
Although you may not know it, Paul and I usually don’t map out our personal discussions on the show. They are mostly off the cuff and true reflections of our thoughts at the time. We like the authentic feel of totally organic conversation.
It is not much of a stretch to extend these discussions into the public. To create a forum that is truly unscripted, and gives the audience a chance to chime in.
Visual Content
Going live offers one other advantage. We can extend the content we produce from written, to audio, to visual. By doing a Facebook Live we will add yet another layer to the What’s Up Next Brand.
I have been careful, up to this point, about sharing video content of myself. While it may be tempting, I will not be wearing a wig or fake mustache!
I think this is a good opportunity to deepen the experience that we have been trying to create. The caveat, of course, is that you will have to join the Facebook Group to take part.
It is a small price for entry.
Final Thoughts
Today, we embark on a new mission. Paul and I will delve into producing live video content to add to the conversations that we have started with the podcast. That’s right, we are going live.
I look forward to having deeper and more meaningful interactions with both you my blog readers as well as our podcast listeners.
Won’t you join us?
